The main fees for the Ecommerce 3PL service are storage fee, handling fee and shipping fee.
Except these, there are 6 commonly seen hiding fees:
1. Integration fee.
Some 3PL companies will charge extra integration fee to connect your online store and their system.
Commonly, most of the 3PL companies can do this for free, including connect the popular online store softwares, like Shopify, WooCommerce, Amazon, eBay and Tiktok Shop.
2. In-bond fee.
Some 3PL companies will charge extra fee to in-bond the warehouse.
This fee shall be covered by the supplier, who is responsible to deliver the goods to warehouse.
If your trade term is EXW, your supplier may let you pay this. Advise you make this clearly, when talking with your 3PL partner at beginning.
3. Packing materials fee.
Some 3PL companies will charge extra packing materials fee, like mailer bag, box or carton. This is reasonable.
This price will be not high. The 3PL warehouse always purchase a lot of packing materials, therefore, their price is economic, commonly.
If you think their this fee is not acceptable, you can purchase the materials by yourself, and let your supplier send to your 3PL fulfillment warehouse for using.
4. SKU fee.
Some 3PL companies will charge extra SKU fee, while not included in the handling fee, especially when your total SKUs quantity is big.
Please check it with your 3PL partner to make this clearly at beginning.
5. VAT tax.
Some 3PL companies will charge extra VAT tax, besides the shipping fee, for Europe countries.
According to EU latest legal rules, all the dropshipping small parcels import from China to EU countries must pay the import VAT tax. So the special line carriers, like Yunexpress, YANWEN, 4PX, will charge VAT tax for EU orders shipments.
This can be free, if you have IOSS tax number.
6. Feul surcharge.
Some 3PL companies will charge extra feul surcharge, besides the shipping fee. In fact, there is fuel surcharge, but most of the 3PL companies will include this in the shipping rate together.
